Institute for Business Information Systems
The Institute for Business Information Systems is the active knowledge centre in the area of Information Systems at the Hochschule Liechtenstein.



Our research specialises in the field of business process management. We are member of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) and represent the Association for Information Systems (AIS) in Liechtenstein through the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS (LCAIS).

Presentation of Prof Jan vom Brocke on LEARNTEC

Prof  Jan vom Brocke will give a presentation on "WEB 2.0: Wirklich alles "Open und Free?" Erfahrungen eines Projekts an der Deutschen Börse Berlin" at LEARNTEC (18th Leading International Trade Fair and Convention for Vocational Education, Learning and Information Technology). The venue will take place in Karlsruhe, Germany, from 2nd to 4th of February 2010.
Final presentation "HPZ-Business Process Analysis"

The Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein and the Special Education Center (Heilpädagogisches Zentrum HPZ) have realized an innovative project. Together with 30 students of the master degree program "Business Process Engineering", the business processes of the Special Education Day School (Sonderpädagogische Tagesschule) in Schaan have been put to test.

"BarCamp Dornbirn" for the region Vorarlberg (Austria), Rheintal (Switzerland) and Liechtenstein

Form the 6th until the 7th of June, 2009 the first BarCamp Dornbirn for the region Vorarlberg (Austria), Rheintal (Switzerland) and Liechtenstein took place at the University of Applied Sciences with about 60 participants. The Institute for Business Information Systems was represented by Dr. Bettina Thurnher with the topic: “Business Process Management - Beyond the Wires”.

New Publication: E-Learning Management

The book "E-Learning Management" shows, how modern E-Learning technologies can be used economically reasonable in university's processes. For the first time, a management perspective upon the topic of E-Learning is taken up, in which, for example, issues like the creation of incentives, budgeting and personnel development are broached.
