Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BSc Arch)
Academic Programme
The Institute for Architecture and Planning has offered a newly structured bachelor’s programme since winter semester 2006/07, which continues in the 45-year school tradition by providing a solid, practice-oriented education on a high creative level. The design focus lies in the architectural and constructive research conducted in small groups in an open atelier atmosphere. The bachelor’s programme was accredited in 2008.
Structure
The degree programme is characterised by three challenging tracks bringing together interrelated topics. Work on architectural design is accompanied by the modules for construction technique and theory. The individual modules pursue an interdisciplinary approach.
Duration of Study
The degree programme lasts a minimum of 6 semesters and may be extended to a maximum of 12 semesters.
Professional Experience
The professional experience module provides insights into students’ future work environment by offering high-quality internships.
English
To obtain the bachelor’s degree, substantial English knowledge attested by the Cambridge First Certificate is required. This language expertise is the basis for the subsequent master’s programme, which is conducted entirely in English.
Tuition
CHF 750.- per semester. Not included in the tuition are expenses for living, books, supplies, and field trips.
Application Deadline: August 15th 2010
